TARGET AUDIENCE

Graduate engineers, supervisors and members of Inspectorate requiring an appreciation of electrical equipment in potentially hazardous areas.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

To provide basic theoretical knowledge of ‘Ex’ principles combined with practical demonstrations and exercises.

COURSE CONTENT

  • The course is designed to cover the various methods of explosion protection
  • The principle of each method of protection will be discussed and lead towards the Selection, Installation, Inspection and Maintenance of Apparatus with consideration to any current revisions
  • Written questionnaires covering all of the topics are also proposed on completion of the course
  • Explosion demonstrations will be carried out to illustrate the principles for each of the protection methods, with emphasis on safety and integrity of design.n

    Practical Assessment
  • An understanding of the main inspection and maintenance requirements for the integrity of each type of protection is carried out which concentrates on those aspects, which can be visual and physical inspections, include cabling and glanding.

Teaching aids, apparatus, slides, videos, practical demonstrations, questionnaires, practical competency assessment.

CERTIFICATION

ATTS Certificate of Completion.
